PrimaryCite is led by Xiaolin “Mark” Lu, a strategist with an MBA from Rollins College’s Crummer Graduate School of Business in the United States and experience across GE, CKGSB, founder-led startups, and technical B2B ventures.

Across these roles, his work has centered on a recurring problem: turning complex organizations into clear, trusted authority systems.

PrimaryCite applies that experience to the AI answer era, where companies need to be understood not only by humans, but also by answer engines that summarize, compare, and cite brands.

Mark was granted Australian permanent residency through the Northern Territory’s MINT innovation program, a pathway connected to the NT business and innovation ecosystem. He is building PrimaryCite from Darwin with a cross-market focus on B2B companies competing across the US, Australia, and other English-language markets.

Why PrimaryCite Exists

Search used to reward pages. AI rewards evidence.

Traditional SEO was built for a world where buyers searched, clicked, compared, and decided.

That world still matters. But AI engines increasingly sit between buyers and the open web. They summarize markets, compare vendors, and decide which sources are useful enough to mention or cite.

PrimaryCite was created for that new layer of visibility: not more content for its own sake, but a clearer system of facts, sources, and signals that makes a serious company easier to understand.

PrimaryCite is a company name for a Generative Engine Optimization consultancy. The name refers to helping companies become primary cited sources in AI-generated answers. It is distinct from traditional legal citation terminology, where “primary cite” may refer to an official legal citation.
